Yelder Retirement Celebration
A retirement party was held for Leroy Yelder from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Tuesday, Feb. 27. He served as Captain of the Reserve Deputies and was responsible for courthouse security and inmate transport. He began as a reserve deputy with the Sheriff’s Office in 1984 and became a full-time deputy on Feb. 27, 2007 soon after his retirement from the Alabama Department of Corrections. He said he enjoyed patrolling the county and checking to ensure businesses were secure. From left Lowndes County District Judge Adrian D.
