Sandy and Leanne Harrell of Hayneville have made some exciting additions to the Hayneville QV they own with their children, and have more improvements to come.

The store now boasts a new Southern Pride Smoker.

“It has a cooking capacity of 80 Boston Butts, ” Sandy Harrell said. “And daily, we smoke chicken and ribs and take Boston Butt orders. But we have pulled barbecue sandwiches every day.”

His wife, Leanne Harrell added, “And also, for special occasions, we do smoke turkeys. If you want to pre-order a ham, we do that.”

Sandy Harrell said he and his wife added on an 800 square foot kitchen to the store and the new smoker sits outside and is fueled with hickory logs.

Another new addition to the store is a f’real milkshake machine.

Leanne Harrell said they first saw that in Florida and added to their store in Camden.

“We wanted to see how it worked here, and it’s done real well,” she said. “You pick your flavor out of the freezer and put your cup in the blender and it takes it up and blends it.”

She said the milkshake machine has a computer chip that sends info directly to the f’real company, and if anything is not working correctly it calls them to make the necessary repair. She said it also has a washing mechanism that cleans it every time it makes a shake.

Sandy Harrell said, “It’s been a hit.” And Leanne said, “They are very good milk shakes.”

Sandy Harrell said of the reasons for the additions to their business, “We feel like Hayneville needs improvement and this is a modern upgrade for the area.”

He also said, “We are also going to put on an 50-seat occupancy sit-down area.”

The Harrells own the Hayneville QV with their children, Stewart Harrell, Kristen Harrell and Drew Harrell, all of Hayneville, who work with them.

The Harrell have been open in Hayneville since 2003. They report the employees of Hayneville QV wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
