Lowndes Academy in Lowndesboro racked up honors at the Alabama Independent School Association’s District 5 Art Show hosted by Morgan Academy in Selma.
Two students — Dylan Davis for Level 2-3 and Carmen Till for Level 7-9 — garnered Best of Shows honors at and trip to the AISA State Art Show.
The school had a total of six students who earned the right to have their work shown at the AISA State Art Show.
Davis’ work was in collage/mixed media and Till’s work was in drawing color.
Lana Pouncey, Lowndes Academy art teacher, said Till is a ninth grader and “one of my really talented drawers” and Davis is in third grade and did the little barn scene. “I’m just so impressed and proud of these guys,” she said.
“I’m really exited. It’s even better than last year’s show. So, I’m just really excited to see what they can do at the state,” Pouncey said.
