SPECIAL TO THE SIGNAL
The National Career Development Association (NCDA) is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). According to their website (http://associationdatabase.com/aws /NCDA /pt/sp/Home_Page) the goal of the NCDA is to “inspire and empower the achievement of career and life goals by providing professional development, resources, standards, scientific research, and advocacy”.
Each year, the NCDA sponsors a poster and art contest to encourage students and adults in the development of their chosen careers.
The Gifted Education Program of the Lowndes County Public Schools entered this state-wide contest, competing in the poster category of the intermediate, middle and adult divisions. In the intermediate division, Jaela Lee (Jackson-Steele Elementary) won first place, Trinity Hardy (Central Elementary) won second place, and Kyaisha McDonald (Central Elementary) won third place.
In the middle division, Xavier Simpson (Hayneville Middle) won second place and Destiny Ellis (Hayneville Middle) won third place. Mrs. Paula Westmoreland won first place in the adult division. These entries move forward to compete in the national contest.
