Hayneville police are investigating the alleged assault of three females that occurred June 27 in the Hayneville Plaza parking lot, according to Senior Officer Levy Kelly.

“The females were reportedly on their way to a baby shower in the Hayneville Plaza Ballroom when an argument between one of the victims and another female initiated the assault,” said Kelly.

Police are interviewing two juvenile males suspected to have been involved with the assault. The names of the suspects and the victims are not being released at this time.

Of the three females, one was taken Jackson Hospital with severe cuts and bruises to her jaw, lips, nose and  face, according to reports.

Police are waiting on a review of the victims’ injuries from the medical examiner before the investigation can continue, according to Kelly.
