Cadets in the Junior Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program at Central High School attended the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge camp June 7-10. The event, held at the 4-H Center in Columbiana, provided a venue for cadets to excel in competition.
Central’s JROTC instructor, MSG Bruce Reeves expressed his pride in the cadet’s success, at the completion and throughout the year.
“We are so proud of what they accomplished,” said Reeves. “They represented their school, district and most of all themselves to the best of their abilities.”
Cadet Major Williams and Cadet SGM Marshall earned Cadet of the Day on June 7. Cadet 1st Lt. Taundria Mcghee earned Cadet of the Day on June 9 and Cadet SSG Oliver earned multiple awards, including Cadet of the Day on June 8. Oliver also finished in the top three in relation to the Army physical fitness test (sit-ups) event and his team placed second in the drill competition, for which he was recognized on June 9.
