Hope Inspired Ministries has begun recruiting students for upcoming classes. Having just celebrated the graduation of its last class for 2023, ministry staff are busy planning for the upcoming year.

Organizers are often asked how they find students and the answer is found in a multi-pronged recruiting approach. Along with word-of-mouth information relays, the ministry features its best tool, graduate testimony, in advertisements aimed at highlighting how the program helps individuals overcome life-challenging circumstances to find their purpose in life by understanding who they are in Jesus Christ.

Toward that end, HIM is airing testimonial ads featuring a 2023 Class 1 graduate from Lowndes County. Dejarvis McCall describes his life before HIM, explaining that he spent most of his time drinking, gambling and pursuing his idea of fun. None of those things, he discovered, helped him keep a job.

“[Before HIM] it was kind of rough,” McCall said. “I was in a dark spot. I was always in trouble and misbehaving.”

At HIM’s Lowndes County center, McCall learned to choose a better community of support, how to become a better steward of his money, and to put his faith in God.

“If I was to encourage someone to go to Hope Inspired Ministries, I would say it would be a help, a good start place to start if you want to start over with your life. They will put you on the right track.”

McCall is now employed at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama and just completed his 90-day probationary period.

“I have learned to always keep God first,” McCall said. “I always help someone in need and don’t turn my back on someone who really needs help.”

The ministry invites organizations and individuals to help others like McCall break the grip of poverty, find self-sufficiency and change their lives by making a tax-deductible donation. Gifts received before midnight on Dec. 31 are deductible in 2023.

With a goal of raising 400,000 before the end of the year, HIM is nearly 80% of the way there. Visit www.hopeinspiredministries.org/donate for more information. Check out McCall’s story on YouTube.
