Andrew Edwards has joined The Lowndes Signal as a general assignment reporter.
Edwards, who is from Prattville, earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Auburn Montgomery.
During his tenure at AUM, he wrote a variety of stories for The Aumnibus, the student newspaper.
He also was a community news reporter for the Elmore Autauga News, where he covered the Prattville City Council, Autauga County sports, crime and wrote stories about those who live in the communities in which he served.
“We are happy to have Andrew join our team,” said Greenville Advocate regional editor Kendra Majors. “Andrew brings with him knowledge of what community newspapers represent and the ability to help us make a great product. Andrew will be out and about in Butler, Lowndes and Crenshaw Counties helping us gather news, sports and features. He started Tuesday and has already hit the ground running.”
Edwards said he’s excited to be here.
“I’m excited to be here and meet the people in the community,” he said. “I like being in community news and forging those relationship with the people of Alabama and hearing their stories and helping their voices be heard. I think it’s important that people have their say and be heard, and I look forward to learning more about the community.”
