AISA honors LA as Blue Ribbon school

Lowndes Academy has been named an AISA Blue Ribbon School for 2019-2020.
This is the second year in a row, the school has been recognized with this prestigious award.
Headmaster Barry Mohun said in order to be considered for the AISA Blue Ribbon Award, a school must complete a rigorous application process and exemplify excellence in scholastic achievement, professional learning, student involvement and community interaction.
These schools have demonstrated a high level of excellence in their academic and student programs.
Mohun said they made sure that students were involved in all district and state AISA competitions, and he said that seniors qualified for a large number of scholarships.
“I’m really proud,” he said. “It shows the students we have and the professional leadership of our teachers.”
Mohun also commended teachers for taking time of of their day to participate in extracurricular activities that better the students.
