Greenville Newspapers, LLC. is pleased to welcome a new smiling face to our staff.

Sydney McGriff, a lifelong Greenville native, joined the GNL staff earlier this month, replacing former retail/classified marketing consultant Chloe Langston, who has been promoted to marketing coordinator.

A 2019 graduate of Alfa Omega Academy and a former student of Fort Dale Academy, McGriff is excited about her new position at GNL.

“This job is my dream job,” McGriff said. “It is exactly what I wanted.”

McGriff has earned years of experience in sales and marketing from working side-by-side with her father selling furniture. She is eager to gain more experience in the field.

Serving as the new retail/classified marketing consultant, McGriff will handle retail marketing for numerous accounts in Butler, Crenshaw and Lowndes counties, as well as, legals and classifieds for all three counties.

“Sydney has the right personality and can-do attitude to work and be successful in the newspaper business,” GNL Publisher Adam Prestridge said. “She has a welcoming personality and has already proven to be a quick learner. I look forward to great things from her.”

McGriff is recently engaged to Taylor Rhudy and is looking forward to becoming Sydney Rhudy on May 23.

Langston is thrilled to have McGriff as part of the newspaper’s marketing team.

“I believe Sydney is perfect for this position,” Langston said. “She is diligent and hard-working and she loves her community.”

Langston is also proud to serve as the company’s new marketing coordinator.

“I am extremely excited to continue working for the growth of businesses in Butler, Crenshaw and Lowndes counties,” she said. “I hope this job allows me to help the local business owners prosper.”

Langston will graduate from Auburn University in Montgomery this spring with a bachelor’s degree in English. She has been a staff member of GNL since January 2019.

“As expected, Chloe has exceeded my expectations from when I hired her 14 months ago,” Prestridge concluded. “She is a hard worker, is knowledgeable and personable, and truly cares about the success of the customers we serve. She has grown so much in this profession and I anticipate that growth will continue.”
