Winter Advisory in Lowndes until 7 a.m. Saturday

ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. AND WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CST SATURDAY FOR Barbour; Blount; Bullock; Cherokee; Etowah; Fayette; Lamar; Lee; Lowndes; Macon; Montgomery; Pickens; Pike; Russell; Walker counties.
The National Weather Service reports cold air moving in from the west and northwest will keep temperatures mainly in the 30s. These temperatures will begin falling after the sun sets. Snow accumulations have been experienced across much of Central Alabama. The snow will continue into the overnight hours, ending early Saturday morning from west to east.
* WHAT…Snow expected. Plan on some slippery roadways. Total snow accumulations of one quarter of an inch to two inches are possible, with the highest amounts on grassy and elevated surfaces.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times. Some roadways may become hazardous.
