The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department is searching for an unknown wig wearing male suspect who allegedly robbed the Fort Deposit Chevron convenience store.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers released a photo of the suspect and information on the crime Friday, which occurred on Thursday, May 18^.

Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Nick M. Cognasi confirmed reports that an unknown male entered the store on Thursday, May 18, at 11:58 p.m. Once inside, he produced a silver semi-automatic handgun and robbed the clerk of the cash in the register.

He ran away from the store on foot and was last seen getting into an unknown make/model vehicle that came from the interstate.  They were last seen headed back into Fort Deposit.

Cognasi, 334-548-2323is the lead investigator in this case.

Cognasi described the suspect as being about 5’6”, weighing 150 wearing a red wig, purple hat and sunglasses and wearing a long leave shirt with what appeared to be a “woman’s T-shirt” on top.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is asked to please immediately call the police or CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP. A tip may lead to a cash reward.
