The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department is searching for an unknown wig wearing male suspect who allegedly robbed the Fort Deposit Chevron convenience store.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers released a photo of the suspect and information on the crime Friday, which occurred on Thursday, May 18.

Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Nick M. Cognasi confirmed reports that an unknown male entered the store on Thursday, May 18, at 11:58 p.m. Once inside, he produced a silver semi-automatic handgun and robbed the clerk of the cash in the register.

He ran away from the store on foot and was last seen getting into an unknown make/model vehicle that came from the interstate.  They were last seen headed back into Fort Deposit.

Cognasi, 334-548-2323is the lead investigator in this case.

Cognasi described the suspect as being about 5’6”, weighing 150 wearing a red wig, purple hat and sunglasses and wearing a long leave shirt with what appeared to be a “woman’s T-shirt” on top.
