Man wanted by Montgomery Sheriff’s Office in custody

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department has officially notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers that Willie Edward Thigpen, who was believed to be in Lowndes County, is now in police custody.

Thigpen was wanted for Burglary 3rd and Theft of Property 2nd degree.

According to CrimeStoppers, Willie Thigpen turned himself in on March 7, 2017 at approximately 10:30 a.m. And Thigpen was reportedly taken  to the Lowndes County Detention Facility by his family after seeing a himself on a CrimeStoppers segment.

As of Monday night, March 6,  the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department was searching for  Thigpen, who  was wanted for burglary in the third degree and theft of property in the second degree and it was believed that Thigpen may have been in Lowndes County, possibly in the Letohatchee Community.

While staying in Montgomery County, Investigators advised  Thigpen committed a residential burglary and stole several items.
