Seeking support for general hospital, Lowndes County Improvement Association (LCIA) organizational meeting set

Dr. O. L. Hubert announces a Lowndes County Improvement Association (LCIA) organizational meeting seeking support for a general hospital in Lowndes County will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. at Hayneville Church of Christ.
Hubert said the LCIA needs county-wide representation and involvement from all communities, townships, social/civic clubs, professional and religious organizations, as well as, business and industry.
He said the goal of the LCIA is to form a “nonprofit community-based association with the goal to improve the quality of life for individual in Lowndes County from a holistic perspective.” He said that means improvement mentally, physically, spiritually, educationally, economically, politically, as well as quality, affordable and accessible healthcare.
Hubert said of special need is “support for the development of 15-30 bed general/critical access hospital” with 24-hour emergency services, as well as an adjacent a professional arts building with a pharmacy, dialysis center, hospice agency and a Countywide ambulance service with satellite locations and a health/wellness program.
