Lowndes native named AGC chapter president

Lowndes County native Rick Pate, president of Pate Landscape Co., Inc. of Montgomery, was installed as chapter president of the Alabama Associated General Contractors (AGC) at the BuildSouth Awards Banquet, held on Jan. 16 at The Club.
Pate has been a member of the Alabama AGC for many years, serving in multiple roles at the local, state and national level.
He is the first specialty contractor to serve as president of the Alabama AGC, and he has served nationally as chairman of the Specialty Contractors Council of the AGC of America.
Kimberly Smith Chastang, with Jackson Concrete Pumping in Mobile, was installed as associate president during the event.
Also installed as officers were: Dell McDonald, McDonald Brothers Construction Co., Inc. of Huntsville, vice president; Gary Savage, BL Harbert International, LLC of Birmingham, second vice president; Alex Whaley II, Whaley Construction Co. of Troy, Treasurer. Larry Hall, Larry Hall Construction Co. of Pace, FL, serves as chairman of the board.
The Alabama AGC is the largest non-profit construction trade association in Alabama with offices in Florence, Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile and Pensacola, Fla.
