A single-vehicle accident on Saturday, March 1, claimed the life of a Burkville man, according to State Troopers.

According to Sgt. Steve Jarrett of the Alabama Department of Public Safety, Arthur Middleton, 54, was killed when the 1992 Chevrolet van he was driving left the roadway and struck a creek bed.

Jarrett said, “The crash occurred at 7:45 a.m. on Lowndes County 33, 15 miles south of Hayneville. Seat belts were not in use.”

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
