Traffic crashes in Lowndes County on Interstate 65 northbound caused traffic snarls Wednesday.
Sgt. Steve Jarrett of the Alabama Department of Public Safety said, “We had two crashes after midnight. Both of them were single-vehicle collisions. A box type truck crashed initially causing (a) major debris cleanup.”
He said a tractor trailer truck ran off the roadway shortly afterwards, within a mile of the first wreck (between mile marker 153-155).
“The road was shutdown off and on during the course of the day for cleanup,” Jarrett said.
He added that there was also a two-vehicle collision with one injury this afternoon.
