Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams say he feels good about the destruction of a moonshine still off Lowndes County Road 12 on Arnold Road in Collirene on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Williams said no one was arrested but the still had “about 13 barrels” of moonshine from which “they get from seven to nine gallons out of a barrel” worth about “$25 to $35 per gallon.” That adds up to more than $4,000 in potential value.

Williams said he was contacted by the Alabama Beverage Control about the still.
