Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday will continue an Alabama tradition that dates back more than 60 years when he officially grants a Thanksgiving pardon to Clyde the Turkey.
According to the governor’s press office, First Lady Dianne Bentley will join Governor Bentley at the pardoning ceremony as they reflect on the meaning of Thanksgiving.
The turkey comes from the Bates Family Farm which supplies Bates House of Turkey in Greenville.
The event will take place at 11 a.m. at the Governor’s Mansion.
