Letohatchee man killed in Montgomery County accident

A pedestrian killed in a single-vehicle accident in Montgomery County Tuesday afternoon has been identified as a Leotohatchee man.

According to Sgt. Steve Jarrett of the Alabama Department of Public Safety, a single-vehicle crash on Oct. 29 in Montgomery County left one man dead and others injured.

Wednesday, Jarrett said, “The pedestrian has been identified as Charles Ming, Jr., 54, of Letohatchee.”

Jarrett said at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 29, “a Dodge Caravan traveling along U.S. 231 near the intersection of U.S. 82 struck and killed a pedestrian, an Alabama Department of Transportation employee.”

He also said occupants in the minivan were injured in the crash.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
