Rebels out gunned by General 41-19

The Lowndes Academy Rebels found themselves both out ranked and out gunned by the Autauga General Friday night, falling 41-19 on the road.
The non-regional loss drops the Rebels to 3-5 overall while the Autauga Generals improved to 6-2 overall.
In the losing effort, the Rebels amassed 114 total rushing yards and 178 passing yards for a total offense of 292 yards.
Garrett Headley was the leading Rebel ball carrier with 11 rushes for 91 yards.
Cody Harrell was the leading passer on the night for the Rebels. He went 11 for 18 in passing for 135 yards.
David Hussey was the leading receiver for the Rebels with three catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Hussey caught one TD strike from Headley for 43 yards and a TD strike from Harrell for 35 yards.
Calvinar Thomas scored the only other touchdown for the Rebels on a 10-yard run.
Hussey led on the defensive side of the ball with 14 tackles, and Thomas Ward snagged one interception.
Rebels head football coach Matt Marshall said his team played well in the second half Friday night after trailing 28-0 through two quarters. He said his kids played hard against a faster opponent and that he was “proud of them for “not laying down.”
The Rebels will be on the road next Friday night against Jackson.
