The Central High Lions gave good account of themselves Friday night in a road game to 1A Florala High School.

The Lions fell 40-28, but Central head football coach James Bibb felt good about this one.

He said Jamarcus Rush returned a fumble for a touchdown. T. J. Saffold returned a punt return for a touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.

Bibb said his team played well “except for missing our assignments on defense”. And the offense played well but still needs to work on its “timing.”

Central will be at home on Sept. 6 to face 2A Highland Home in a regional encounter.
