Dunklin & Davis Funeral Home in Greenville has announced that W. C.”Bill” Bates Jr., 89, a resident of Logan, died on Monday, Aug. 26 at his residence. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
Bates was owner of Bates Turkey Farm in Fort Deposit. He first presented a turkey to be pardoned by the Governor of Alabama to Governor James E. “Big Jim” Folsom in 1949.
