Lowndes Academy takes three of four in basketball

The Lowndes Academy Rebels took three out of four basketball contests against South Choctaw Academy at home on Thursday, Jan. 10. But the one defeat was suffered by the varsity boys.
The Rebels won the junior varsity girls game 42-9, the junior varsity boys game 56-19 and the varsity girls game 54-19. But South Choctaw defeated the varsity boys 46-38.
Junior Varsity Girls – Lowndes 42 South Choctaw 9. Taylor King, Sarah Anna McIntosh and Emily Dunning scored 9 points each. Carmen Till scored 7 points, Abby Ray 5 and Laura Jean McCurdy 2. Record 10-1.
Junior Varsity Boys – Lowndes 56 South Choctaw 19. David Hussey led with 26 points. Alex Thrash scored 12 points, Wade Howard 9 points, Brian Rayburn 4 points, Cody Janes 3 points and Brady Eiland 2 points Record 9-2.
Varsity Girls – Lowndes 54 South Choctaw 19. Abby Pitts led the scoring with 14 points. McIntosh and Till scored 10 each. Kailen Sheperd scored 8 points, Ray 6 points, Dunning and Mallory McCurdy 2 points each, Caroline Bennett and Laura Jean McCurdy scored 1 point each. Record 7-6.
Varsity Boys – South Choctaw 46 Lowndes 38. Toby King led with 12 points. David Hussey scored 10 points, Garrett Headley 8 points, Cody Harrell 6 points and Ryan Tindoll 2 points
The Lowndes Academy Rebels were slated to Clarke Prep on Tuesday, Jan. 15th in Grove Hill.
