U.S. 80 open after accident, hazardous conditions persist

An 18-wheeler overturned on U.S. 80 in Lowndes County at the 100 mile marker near the Dallas County line in the Benton area at 6:50 a.m. this morning with minor injuries to the driver, according to State Troopers.
While all lanes are open according to Troopers, U,S. 80 in Lowndes County has approximately 6-12 inches of standing water covering the Eastbound lanes at the 104 mile marker, but is still passable.
ALDOT has lane control setup to slow traffic and move them to the shallower crossing.
