The Lowndes Academy Rebels got their first win under new head football coach Matt Marshall  Friday night.

The 2A AISA Rebels went on the road to 1A AISA Sparta Academy in Evergreen and came away with a 14-6 victory.

The Rebels struck on a 6-yard pass from Cody Harrell to Willie Nall for a touchdown in the first quarter.

And in the third quarter Harrell connected with Garrett Headley on a 14-yard touchdown strike. A 2-point conversion gave the Rebels their 14 point total.

The Rebels had 147 yards rushing and 63 yards passing for a total offense of 210 yards.

Harrell threw five passes for those 63 yards and two touchdowns.

Headley chalked up six tackles, Owen Nall had five tackles and Willie Nall had five tackles.
