The Hayneville AG grocery store was the target of an armed robbery Monday night.

“The AG was robbed between 6 and 7 o’clock last night (Monday) by a male,” Hayneville Police Chief Kelvin Mitchell said.

Mitchell said the robber’s race was unknown, but he did carry a handgun, and an undetermined amount of money was taken.

He said an investigation into the robbery is underway.
