Roby, Cavanaugh hear from citizens

U.S. Rep. Martha Roby (R-Ala) paid a visit to Hayneville Town Hall on Thursday where she met with local leaders to hear their concerns and needs. From left are Walter S. Hill, mayor of Mosses, James Adams of the Lowndesboro Town Council, Fletcher Fountain, mayor of Fort Deposit, Roby, Helenor Bell, mayor of Hayneville, Charlie King Jr., chairman of the Lowndes County Commission, and Carole Scrushy of the Hayneville Town Council. Bell said a well was a priority for Hayneville, King talked about the need for help with road erosion, and Fountain noted the need for infrastructure to help attract business. Roby said Congress has some really tough decisions ahead and, "It is going to be felt by everybody."
Commissioner Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh of the Alabama public service commission was the guest speaker for the Lowndes County Republic Party at its quarterly meeting held Thursday night at the First Presbyterian Church in Hayneville.
