“He was arrested today, about an hour ago,” Green said. “He’s currently charged with one count of burglary, third. We do anticipate additional charges probably, Tuesday.”

Investigators asked for the community’s assistance in identifying a person captured on video. The man in question was identified as Hayes who was apprehended Thursday but no longer had the stolen property in his possession.

Corporal Pierce Vongsavahn, who worked the case alongside Corporal Miranda Timmons said Hayes is accused of taking various items from a home on Lowndes County Road 45 near Fort Deposit.

“There was forced entry into a shed and camper trailer,” Vonsavongh said. “There were multiple pieces of lawn equipment that were taken along with food and alcohol.”
