Lions, Tigers end season in double elimination

On Monday, April 28, Central High School in Hayneville hosted the Alabama High School Athletic Association three-team softball Class 2A, Area 5 double elimination tournament.
First up to bay Monday morning, the Highland Home School Lady Flying Squadron traveled to Hayneville and won a 21-6 victory over Central. During the second elimination match, the Lady Squadron defeated The Calhoun School Lady Tigers, 29-14, and advanced to round three.
Central hosted Calhoun on Tuesday, April 29, at 10 a.m. and emerged victorious, 17-2. The victory set the stage for game four when the Lady Lions would meet Highland Home again on home turf.
At 12:15 p.m., the Lady Squadron challenged Central again, besting the Lady Lions, 17-10. To advance to the state playoffs beginning May 12.
Central ended the season at 6-5 overall. The Tigers finish 0-8 overall.
