The Central High School Lady Lions defeated The Calhoun School Lady Tigers on April 14, winning the “Battle of the 4-5” in a double-header (16-6, 25-10) to take the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 2A Area 5 championship. With 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the region, Central’s softball team is ranked first in the area, followed by Highland Home School and The Calhoun School.

The Lady Lions will meet Autaugaville on the road in a non-conference game April 24 at 4 p.m. They advance to the first playoff round, regionals, April 29 to play the winner of Monday’s 10 a.m. matchup between Calhoun and Highland Home.
