The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles denied the parole petition recently from an inmate serving 20 years for burglary in Lowndes County.

On April 1, the board voted to deny parole to Kendrick Mason, 33. He is housed at the Pre Therapeutic Community Program and has served two years and eight months of sentences which include 20 years for a third-degree burglary conviction in August 2022 concurrently with 48 months for August 2023 convictions for two counts of burglary, third, and unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle.

Willie Mason, Kendrick’s uncle, spoke to the board in support of his nephew’s release. Jackie Fowler, victim services officer for District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer, petitioned the board opposing Mason’s parole.
