Phillips voted Athlete of the Week

Emma Phillips has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 23. She is a sophomore at Lowndes Academy where she is catcher for the Lady Rebels softball team. Phillips has caught 11 consecutive games and is batting 302 this season.
Phillips earned Athlete of the Week by capturing 96%, 76 out of 79 votes cast in the contest.
Tyrese McRae from Central High School and Lillian Timmons from The Calhoun School School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Congratulations to McRae and Timmons for being nominated this week.
Athlete of the Week is made possible by the joint efforts of The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Public Schools Athletic Director Ervin Starr and sponsors, the Black Belt Unincorporated Wastewater Program and the Hayneville QV, as well as the cooperation of the coaches and administration of Central High School, Lowndes Academy, and The Calhoun School.
