Ford Walker has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 22. He is a junior at Lowndes Academy where he plays football and baseball at Lowndes Academy.  He pitched five innings in the Revels’ match with Edgewood in a 10-9 win giving up four hits and three strikeouts.     

Walker earned the honor this week by capturing 53%, 178 out of 337 votes cast in the contest.

Quindarius Williams from Central High School and Alicia Similton from The Calhoun School School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Congratulations to Williams and Similton for being nominated this week. 

Athlete of the Week is made possible by the joint efforts of The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Public Schools Athletic Director Ervin Starr and sponsors, the Black Belt Unincorporated Wastewater Program and the Hayneville QV, as well as the cooperation of the coaches and administration of Central High School, Lowndes Academy, and The Calhoun School.
