Citizen News
An interest meeting to discuss partnering with PACERS to launch a citizen-created newspaper will be held at the Lowndes County Public Schools Board of Education office Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m.
Community Sale
Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church invites the community to participate in an area-wide yard sale April 5, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church on 4167 Alabama Highway 97 North in Lowndesboro. Tables are $25 each with setup at 6 a.m. Call (334) 233-3402 by March 21 to reserve a table.
Stakeholder Meetings
The Lowndes County Emergency Management Agency is holding two Hazard Mitigation Plan Stakeholder Meetings by Zoom on April 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meeting links will be emailed one week in advance. For information, contact David Butts at (334) 548-2324.

Pre-K Program
First Years Child Development Center, First Class Pre-K offers a free 4-year-old program from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working parents and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for non-working parents. Classes start in August. Space is limited. Call Katina Surles at (334) 281-8627 for more information.
LCUWP Applications
The Lowndes County Unincorporated Wastewater Project is accepting applications for septic system installation or repair at its office located at 507 W. Tuskeena Street in Hayneville. Call (334) 548-2006 or stop by Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an application.
Head Start
The Lowndes County BOE has opened Head Start registration for children ages 3 and 4 for the 2024-2025 program year. Current immunization records, proof of income, and proof of age are required to register. Call (334) 548-2145 or visit www.lowndesboeheadstart.org for information.
DAV Meetings

An Old-Fashioned Mass Meeting Concert will take place at First Baptist Church, 546 Oak Street in White Hall Sunday, April 27, 3 – 5 p.m.
Forest Friends
The Lowndes County Alabama Extension Office will host Friends of the Forest for 4th – 5th graders May 2, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Holy Ground Battelefield Park in Lowndesboro.
