Commercial vehicle crash blocks Highway 80 eastbound

A two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle occurred at approximately 12:27 p.m. Monday, March 24, caused a lane closure in Lowndes County.
The inside eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 80 near the 120-mile marker in was closed while wrecker crews recovered the commercial vehicle. ALEA Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said the scene cleared and the roadway had reopened by 4:35 p.m.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene assisting with traffic control and investigating the crash. ALEA Troopers will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
