Softball and baseball are in full swing, and Athlete of the Week round 22 is open, hitting all the bases to support the student athletes representing Lowndes County. Fans can cheer on their favorite student-athlete in the bleachers while casting their vote online all weekend.

Nominated for recognition this week are Quindarius Williams from Central High School, Lowndes Academy’s Ford Walker and Alicia Similton, student-athlete at The Calhoun School.

The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Athletics are partnering to highlight our young men and women in the Athlete of the Week contest. Thanks to the help of Calhoun Lighthouse, Lowndes Academy and Central High School, Hayneville and our sponsors Blackbelt Unincorporated Wastewater Project and Hayneville QV, we have an opportunity to encourage student-athletes and reward their dedication.
