Shorter University has announced students named to the dean’s list during the fall semester of 2024. Hayneville native, Derrica Mccall, who is majoring in sport management is among those named to the list.

Mccall is a graduate of Central High School, where she played basketball and cheered for the Lions. The Shorter senior plays basketball as guard for the Lady Hawks and was named Player of the Week in January, leading her team to a pair of wins and averaging 18.5 points per game and shooting 45.7% from the field while adding averages of 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 4 steals per game.

To achieve this honor, students must have been enrolled full time and have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average for the term.
