Do you have a favorite teacher in Lowndes County? Maybe a favorite gift store or restaurant? Show your appreciation by voting for them in the first ever “Best of the 4-5” Readers’ Choice Awards. Voting is now open at www.lowndessignal.com/contests.. 

With nearly fifty categories in which to vote, in groups such as food and drink as well as local people and places, the contest is sure to bring plenty of attention to the excellent people and places in Lowndes County. The “Best of the 4-5” will host voting through Feb 28 at 5 p.m.

“This event helps businesses be recognized for the effort they put forth,” said David Lovell, general manager of The Lowndes Signal. “They work hard throughout the year, and this allows them the opportunity to be recognized by the citizens. Most importantly, this gives the community a chance to have their voices heard.”

All nominations have been counted and final voting commenced this week with finalists selected from the most nominated in each group. 

Winners of the “Best of the 4-5” will be announced in a special winner’s edition in early April.

“The best thing about being involved in this event is seeing the excitement when a business wins and seeing the appreciation these businesses have for the community that chose them,” Lovell said.
