Lambert voted Week 17 student-athlete

Bryan Lambert has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 17. He isa sophomore at The Calhoun School. At 6-foot-three, 278 pounds, the offensive and defensive lineman is a third-year starter on the Tiger offensive line. With a 3.78 grade point average, Lambert is a leader on the field and in the classroom.

“Bryan has moved up to one of our team captains, for the 2nd consecutive year because of his great work ethic, his willingness to be coachable, his work in the classroom and love for his teammates,” said Calhoun Athletic Director and Head Coach Ervin Starr.

Lambert earned the honor this week by capturing 62%, 175 out of 281 votes cast in the contest.

Charlie Meadows at Lowndes Academy and Christian Lawrence from Central were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Congratulations to Self and Thigpen for being nominated this week. 

Athlete of the Week is made possible by the joint efforts of The Lowndes Signal and Lowndes County Public Schools Athletic Director Ervin Starr and sponsors, the Black Belt Unincorporated Wastewater Program and the Hayneville QV, as well as the cooperation of the coaches and administration of Central High School, Lowndes Academy, and The Calhoun School.
