One Lowndes County woman’s long-time generosity is making a difference in the lives of area Head Start students.

Carmen O’Donnell donated $2000.00 to the Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start (LCBOEHS) program on Dec. 11, 2024 for students at Central Head Start, Fort Deposit Head Start and Jackson-Steele Head Start programs. O’Donnell’s donation afforded 154 students the opportunity to receive individual Christmas presents which were picked up by their parents or guardians during the second week of January 2025.

“The students and LCBOEHS staff would love to thank Mrs. O’Donnell for her kindness and generosity over the years,” said family and community partnerships manager Laura Jamess-Hunter..
