Lowndes County Water Authority hosted their inaugural customer appreciation day with  food and fun on Saturday, not only in appreciation for their customers, but also as a way to express their pledge to serve the people in Lowndes County.

The event was sponsored by Tristatz LLC, a community and economic development consulting firm in Lowndes County, and with the help of Water Management Services Inc. which provides water operation and management services for the day-to-day operation for the Lowndes County Water Authority.

“I feel a customer appreciation day demonstrates the desire of the Lowndes County Water Authority Board of Directors to acknowledge their appreciation for the customers of the Authority and expresses our pledge to serve the people in Lowndes County to the fullest extent,” President of Water Management Services Inc. Kathy Horne said.

“Our customers are very important and it is very important to us to provide good, clean drinking water. I never want to see our customers not served,” Lowndes County Water Authority Chairperson Orbuty Ozier said. “We wanted to have an event where our customers could come and enjoy themselves before their children started back to school.”

Along with several bounce houses, music, hotdogs, and cotton candy, there were gift packages given away that included gift cards, masks, and disinfectant wipes. Water Management Services Inc. was also on hand to give away pencils, balloons, and candy for the kids. According to Ozier, between 75 and 100 water authority customers participated in the day’s events.

Tristatz LLC has been working with the Lowndes County Water Authority to help them locate funding and resources geared at improving the quality of services provided to communities in Lowndes County. They have been assisting with branding and showing ways to connect to the community more effectively.

“We talked to the board of directors, the mayor, and Water Management Services Inc and we asked them what they wanted to accomplish with this event and we helped them put it into action,” William Scott with Tristatz LLC said. “Keisha Lee was instrumental in working with the Tristatz team to help plan the event. I would like to thank her for all her help.”

The Lowndes County Water Authority is planning future events that will continue to show customers appreciation. They are also in the process of acquiring grant funds to replace some problematic water lines and install stand-by generators at two of their existing well sites.
