The Calhoun/Central ladies both advanced to Class 2 A Area 6 area basketball championship to be played at Central today, Friday, Feb. 8.

The Lady Calhoun Tigers defeated Luverne’s ladies 41-31, and the Central High Lady Lions  defeated the Lady Highland Home Flying Squadron 62-21 at Central High on Wednesday, Feb. 6 in the semi-finals of AHSAA Class 2 A Area 6 Tournament.

Toni Young led the Lady Tigers of Calhoun with 22 points and 17 rebounds. And Cordasia Harris led Central with 21 points while Derrica McCall scored 16 points and Melody Walker scored 17 points.

Both Calhoun and Central will play for the area championship at Central today, Friday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
