The Central/Calhoun boys both advanced to area  basketball championship at Calhoun to be played Saturday, Feb. 9.

The Central Lions defeated Luverne  66-52, and the Calhoun Tigers defeated Highland Home 89-48 in the semi-finals of the AHSAA Class 2 A Area 6 Tournament at Calhoun on Thursday, Feb. 7 at .

Travell Mcreynolds led the Lions with 22 points, and DeMarcus Young scored 15.
And five Calhoun Tigers scored in double figures. JaMichael Boone scored 21 points, Jerdarrian Davison scored 15 points, Demareus Cheatham scored 12 points and Tacorian McCall and Jeremy Morgan scored 11 points each.

Central will face Calhoun at Calhoun in the finals Saturday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
