The Montgomery Baptist Association of Churches has adopted Lowndes County as one of its newest mission fields to help meet the needs of low income families said Pastor Sylvester Hardy of Jonathan’s House of Prayer in Hayneville, a member church.

Hardy said, “We will be using our mobile food pantry, beginning Sept. 2018 to deliver free food items to families in need on a weekly basis.”

He said food items will be distributed at a designated pick up spot in close proximity to all of the communities located in the county.

Hardy said, “In order to be placed on the list for free food items, each family will have to pick up an application form from partnering agency, the Family Guidance Center, located in Hayneville.”

He said applicants should be sure to fill the form out completely as partially filled out forms will not be accepted.  And, he said the forms must be mailed back to the Montgomery office address located on form.

“We will be processing applications on a first come first serve basis. Once we have received the maximum number of applications allotted for this period all other applications will be placed on file to be processed as funding for this ministry permits.”

He said after applications are processed, families will be contacted with additional information.
