Moye predicted that when the season is said and done, Lowndes will be in the thick of things.

He said this year’s team is a combination of 10th graders and juniors with five or six seniors, but only two or three starters. “We like the way we are for the future as well as this year,” Moye said.

Following the loss to Macon East in the championship contest, Lowndes Academy head softball coach Matt Marshall said, “It is not often you can get confidence out of a 12-0 loss, but had good play and will leave here confident.”

He said, “I was real pleased with the way played. All you can do is give yourself a chance. You can’t win a championship if you don’t get into a championship game. We are getting there. We played in the championship game at Fort Dale and played in the championship game here.”

Marshall said, “We are on the right path. We have to just keep working to get a little bit better.”
