Selma man charged with murder in connection with shooting in White Hall

A Selma man has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting in White Hall on Saturday, Dec. 3.
Investigator Nick Cognasi of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said on Saturday, Dec. 3 the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a “subject shot” call at Triple Spot, 787 Freedom Road in White Hall.
He said deputies identified the victim as a black male Antonio Anderson, 40, of White Hall, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cognasi said “A physical altercation occurred between the victim and the suspect when the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene.”
He said the suspect was later identified as a black male, Andre Lamar Cooper, 31, of Selma who was later picked up by investigator from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office with the help of the Selma Police Department in Selma on Dec. 3. He said Cooper was transported to the John Hulett Detention Facility and charged with murder.
