According to the sign at Southern Star, Tuesday afternoon, the electronic bingo operation is set to open under new management Wednesday.
Among the messages now showing on the sign are, “Under New Management,” “Help Wanted,” “Reopening Wednesday.”
The Signal was unable to get a comment from anyone in management at Southern Star while at the business, however, a college graduate who was there gave her opinion on the reopening.
Stenesal Clark of Tyler said, regardless of what is going on with gaming, “I think it would be wonderful for the simple fact people have families to support, etc. And revenue needs to be generated because… I mean it’s alright to go to Montgomery and everything… but we have to take care of home first.”
