Economic Development Commission Chairman (LCEDC) Thomas Ellis and Butler

County Commission for Economic Development (BCCED) Chairman Steve Norman announced on Thursday, Sept. 29 that beginning Oct. 3, The Faulkner Group LLC will begin assisting the LCEDC with economic development activities in Lowndes County.

According to the LCEDC, The BCCED will continue to guide and assist the Faulkner Group LLC as it becomes familiar with ongoing and planned activities in Lowndes County.

Funding for the economic development activities were approved recently by the

Lowndes County Commission and the LCEDC that will result in a continuing

support relationship established approximately three years ago with the BCCED.

Project activity and existing industry assistance has increased significantly since

the LCEDC was formed in late 2013.

The part-time contract between the LCEDC and BCCED will begin October 3, 2016 and will be evaluated in mid-2017 when the budgeting process begins for

Lowndes County Commission, the LCEDC and the BCCED.

Over time, the Faulkner Group LLC is expected to become the primary contact for economic development activities in all of Lowndes County.
