Lions outmatched by Elba, fall 56-0

The Central High School Lions fell to regional opponent Elba on the road tonight 56-0 tonight, Friday, Sept. 11 to go 0-3,0-2 in Class 2A Region 3.
Central head football coach Martez Graham said of his team, “The guys played hard. We were just outmatched.”
He said of Elba, “They had more football experience and were in better shape. They aren’t number one in 2A for nothing.”
Elba improved to 3-0, 2-0.
Lions’ quarterback Keegan Blackman was one of seven passing. Jaquez Bolling and Malik Hill had six tackles and Jatavius Robinson had four tackles.
He said several other Lions had three tackles each.
The Lions will be home this coming Friday to host regional opponent Luverne.
